Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from March of that year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.

The player's defensive approach and regular outbursts on court had caused commentators to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional title, took control to push for a third set.

The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
